no. same with pepper jack and wensleydale (sometimes has berries inside). so long as it comes in the cheese it’s ok in my book

Golly, you may have found a loophole. I await the verdict.

Approved but we’re keeping an eye on you

Not a melt at all. I know it’s a grey area with some spreads like bacon jam (I just don’t post it) but I would post a sandwich with an onion jam spread (my wife loves these).

Bread, spread, cheese.
Did you cut onions to add them? No? Then it fits.

You’re on thin fucking ice my pedigree chum

Inclusions, in either cheese or bread, aren’t melt.

In my eyes. If I didn’t cook it and can’t tell the difference then it cheeses. 🧀
Regardless of the method.

From my understanding, a melt includes things other than cheese, like if you threw some ham on there, or some turkey, or something, or maybe even some chicken. So I feel like you’re good.

Damnit I need a bowl of tomato soup after seeing this.

What cheese has onions? Love onion umm melts!

hell, you could have mixed the onion in the spread, scro. Still cool.
It’s when it’s sliced on the sandwich when it crosses the line.
I love onion butter and onion mayo, but both give me heartburn.
The rules are deceptively simple.
Bread.
Spread.
Cheese.
There is one guy who always tells me air fryers/convection ovens don’t count, but he’s one dude and I don’t respect him.
I had been messing up my frying pan grilled cheeses for a while, and the set it and forget it of my convection oil (I said oven fuck you autocorrect) kept me from messing with the sandwich while cooking (acknowledging the flip)
I love my convection oven grilled cheese, I use bake over “air fry” in the settings, but I am happy with the (fan off) results.

This is just cheesy garlic toast stuck together. This isn’t grilled cheese.

I think a small amount of chopped veg should be permitted as it typically doesn’t overpower the cheesy flavoring.
